Privacy Policy

1. Purpose of the Policy

  1. This Policy (hereinafter referred to as “the Policy”) defines the contents and methods by which Preferred Networks Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) acquires and handles information regarding each user (hereinafter referred to as the “User”) of the Service.
  2. The Company shall handle all User Information appropriately in accordance with the Policy.

2. Definition

As used herein, the following terms shall have the following meanings.

  1. “The Service” means all products, contents and services provided by the Company’s web services or through its application “PaintsChainer”.
  2. “Contents” means languages, images, videos and other information.
  3. “The Contents” means contents accessible through the Service.
  4. “Submitted Contents” means contents that the User posts, transmits, uploads to the Service or acquires through the Service.
  5. “User Information” means personal information of the User, history information on the communication service, and other information generated or accumulated on the User’s smart phone, PC and other terminals related to the User or the User's terminal, gathered by the Company in accordance with the Policy.
  6. “Personal Information” means User Information that can identify an individual by name, date of birth and other descriptions contained in the information (including those that can easily be collated with other information, making it possible to identify the individual).

3. Obtaining User Information

  1. The Company may obtain the following User Information during the registration process of the User.
    • Mail address
    • Other information that the User enters in the data entry form of the Service
  2. The Company may obtain the following User Information when the User uses the Service.
    • Date, time and form of use
    • Terminal information and other usage environments
    • Operation history of the Contents
    • Identification information at time of log-in for the Service
    • Other activity history on the communication service and information regarding the User’s status or condition
  3. When linking with a third party service, the Company may obtain the following User Information from the third party service when registering the User or using the Service.
    • User ID used by the User for the third party service
    • Other information that the User has allowed the Company to disclose
  4. When the User uses the Service, the Company may acquire data on Submitted Contents that are licensed to the Company to a limited extent based on the Terms of Service.

4. Purpose for using User Information

  1. The Company may use User Information for the following purposes.
    • To provide the Service
    • To develop and improve the quality of applications, services, or contents of the Company
    • For marketing survey and analysis
    • To deliver and display advertisements for the Company or third parties
    • To take measures against violation of laws or regulations or acts that may lead to such violation
    • Other purposes associated with the above-mentioned purposes

5. Provision of User Information to third parties

  1. The Company may provide User Information to third parties who provide data analysis, mail transmission, hosting service and other services in behalf of the Company.
  2. In cooperation with Facebook, Google accounts and other external services, the Company may provide User Information to third parties who operate the external services.
  3. The Company may provide User Information that does not identify specific individuals to third parties in order to facilitate the delivery of targeted advertisements using the User Information.
  4. The Company shall not provide User Information to third parties without obtaining prior consent from the User except in cases specified in each of the previous paragraphs and where disclosure is allowed under the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws and regulations.
  5. The Company may allow concerned third parties to inherit all or part of User Information in the event of an organizational restructuring, merger or transfer of business.

6. Access to Personal Information

  1. In case the Company receives a request from the User for disclosure of Personal Information based on the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act, said information will be disclosed after the identity of the User is verified. (If the personal information requested does not exist, the User will be notified.)
  2. In case the Company receives a request from the User to do any of the following based on provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act, except when the Personal Information needs to be saved for legal or legitimate business purposes, contents of the User Information will be corrected or its usage will be suspended after the identity of the User is verified. A notification will be given in case a decision is made not to make a correction or suspension of usage based on sound reasoning.
    • Correction of contents on the grounds that the Personal Information is incorrect.
    • Suspension of usage on the grounds that the Personal Information is being used beyond the scope of the previously published purpose of use or that the Personal Information is fabricated and acquired through other illegal means.
  3. In case the Company receives a request from the User to delete Personal Information and there is a need for the Company to comply with said request, the Personal Information will be deleted after the identity of the User is verified.
  4. In case the Company is not obligated to disclose information under the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws and regulations, the provisions of the preceding paragraphs shall not apply. Furthermore, the User’s request may not be addressed or responded to in cases where there is a significant management or technical difficulty in carrying out said procedure.

7. Destruction of User Information

  1. User Information will be disposed of once it is deemed no longer necessary to save the User Information acquired by the Company.

8. Revision of the Policy

  1. The Company will make efforts to review the operation status of User Information and to continuously improve it and, as necessary, revise the Policy. However, if the User 's consent is required by law, his/her consent shall be obtained in the manner prescribed by the Company.
  2. The Company shall post the revised Policy on the Contents.
  3. The revised Policy shall take effect from the time it is posted on the Contents.
